Seller Guidelines

Please Read This:


To become a seller on Afrikwea, you will complete the sign-up process and provide accurate information about yourself, including your name, contact details, and a valid payment method. In addition to the following "Seller Specific Terms,” You SHALL also agree to comply with our policies and terms of service.

 

How To List Products

  • Access your seller dashboard: Start by logging into your account and selecting the seller dashboard. You can usually find this option in the top-left drop-down menu.
  • Set up your shop details: Navigate to the settings section within your seller dashboard. Look for an option to add or edit your details, including your shop name. Ensure that you provide accurate and appealing information to attract potential customers.
  • Add products to your inventory: Locate the inventory option in the left menu of your seller dashboard. Click on it to access your product inventory management page.
  • Add new products: On the inventory management page, you should find an option to add products. It's typically located at the top bar of the page. Click on "Add products" to proceed.
  • Fill in product details: You will be presented with a form or interface where you can enter the relevant information for your product listing. This usually includes the product name, description, price, quantity, images, and any additional attributes specific to your products or marketplace.
  • Provide accurate information: Make sure to include all the necessary details about your product. Be descriptive and highlight its unique features to attract potential buyers. Upload high-quality images that showcase your product effectively.
  • Review and submit: Before submitting your product listing, double-check all the information you've provided. Ensure that there are no errors or omissions. Take a moment to review the product description, pricing, and any other relevant details.
  • Publish your listing: Once you are satisfied with the accuracy and completeness of your product listing, click on the "Submit" or "Publish" button to make it live on your shop.

 

Product Images

    • Afrikwea requires all product images to be of high quality and consistent with the product description.
    • Product images should not contain any watermarks or promotional material, including text, logos, or branding.
    • Images should be accurate, clear, and of high resolution.
    • All images should be taken by the seller or authorized by the manufacturer, and should not be copied from other websites or sources.
    • The product should occupy at least 80% of the image area, with minimal distractions in the background.

The recommended size for product images is 1500 x 1500, with a maximum file size of 1 MB in JPEG or PNG format.

    • Images should be taken in natural lighting, with no harsh shadows or reflections.
    • The product should be shown from multiple angles, with close-up shots of important details.
    • Images should not contain any props or accessories that are not included with the product.
    • If the product has multiple variations, such as color or size, images of each variation should be provided.
    • Images must not be digitally altered to misrepresent the product or deceive the customer.

 

Packaging & Shipping

    • All packages to be labeled properly with the correct recipient address, return address, and tracking information. This helps to ensure that packages are delivered to the correct location and can be tracked throughout the shipping process.
    • All packages are shipped in appropriate packaging materials that can protect the contents during transit. This includes using sturdy boxes, cushioning materials, and appropriate labeling.
    • Sellers SHALL comply with all DHL regulations when shipping their products. This includes restrictions on hazardous materials, size and weight limitations, and documentation requirements.
    • If shipping internationally, sellers SHALL comply with all customs regulations and requirements for the country of destination. This may include providing proper documentation, paying customs fees, and adhering to specific packaging requirements.
    • Sellers SHALL ensure that packages are processed, shipped and delivered within a reasonable timeframe. This includes providing accurate shipping estimates to customers, promptly processing orders, and communicating any delays or issues that may arise during the shipping process.
    • Sellers shall be responsible for packaging and shipping their products to buyers whenever a sale is confirmed. It is important to ensure products are packaged properly to prevent damage during shipping.
    • When shipping products, sellers shall include tracking information so that buyers can track their packages and know when to expect their delivery.
    • Sellers shall have a clear returns policy in place. This will help buyers understand their options if they receive a damaged or incorrect product.
    • Sellers shall respond promptly to any chats from buyers. This will help build trust and ensure that buyers have a positive experience shopping on your store.

 

Seller Payments

Afrikwea offers various payment options for sellers to receive payments for their products once they are sold. These include:

    • Afrikwea allows sellers to receive payments through PayPal, bank transfers, and/or mobile money (Mpesa). 
    • Afrikwea pays sellers on a weekly basis. This means that sellers can expect to receive their payments every seven days .
    • Afrikwea takes up to 24hrs to process payments. This means that payments for sales made in a particular week will be processed and paid out within 24hrs.
    • Afrikwea has a minimum payment threshold of $5 for sellers. This means that sellers need to have at least $5 in their account before they can request a payment.
    • Afrikwea charges a fee of 10% on all sales made on the platform and processing fees of 2.99%. This fee covers the cost of processing payments and providing customer support.
